6 to 12 MONTHS – 1st level of infant education

With seven places for babies aged 6-12 months, the baby room offers a warm, stimulating and affectionate environment in which children can develop at their own pace. In this room, the activities are organised to encourage babies to acquire all the pre-walking postures by themselves: crawling, crawling, sitting, standing and, finally, the conquest of walking. The teacher is always close to the children, stimulating their movement and helping them with everything they need; this classroom also has a support person who helps the teacher with all the daily tasks.

Babies are given special consideration at our centre, mainly because of the importance of this stage in their development. When they arrive at the centre we welcome them in a personal way, showering them with affection and tenderness. The baby room is set up in such a way that they can spend as much time as possible on the floor, from where they will acquire security and confidence and will also make daily progress in their movements and general development.

Babies’ need for sleep varies from one to another: between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. is when we encourage most babies to sleep. However, each child has his or her own rhythm and time and it is also possible for them to sleep at a different time. Babies eat at 12 o’clock in the morning. The food is adapted to their developmental stage and their needs. The feeding process is very personal and is approached with observation and as much respect as possible.

Our centre supports all mothers who want to continue breastfeeding. Through respectful accompaniment and close communication with the family, we try to ensure that natural breastfeeding can continue for as long as mother and child need.

Between mealtimes and rest time, which are the basic pillars in this early stage, we will provide the child with time for play, experimentation, relationships... where he/she will enjoy a very stimulating, motivating environment that facilitates a lot of learning.
